Step 1 – 300dpi Please make sure that the file is set at 300dpi (dots per inch). 300dpi refers to the quality or resolution of the artwork. Taste of Ink Studios has a minimum requirement of 300dpi for all printed material.
Step 2 – bleed When setting up your work, please create the document size with a bleed. A bleed is the excess room at the edge of a document needed for cutting around the border of the printed material. Taste of Ink Studios requires for all print ready artwork to contain a bleed that extends 1/8 inch around the print document.
Step 3 – CMYK Taste of Ink Studios uses an offset press for all printing. In order for colors to print correctly, please set the print color mode to CMYK. CMYK is an abbreviation for the colors cyan, magenta, yellow, and black.
Artwork Setup for Upgrades - Spot Gloss Highlights & Decorative Foil Once you have decided what you would like spot glossed or foiled, Taste of Ink Studios asks for you to create an additional layer within the design document. After you have created the new layer, please label each upgrade separately (ex: spot gloss highlights, decorative foil).
